The challenge was on Saturday 28 June and is for teams of 4 runners (or 3 walkers) each covering an off road 4.75km course through the prestigious Tala Private Game reserve where visitors are guaranteed of seeing  Giraffe, zebra, ostrich, hippo, Rhino, Wildebeest and a host of other game and up to 220 different bird species.

It was a unique way of getting back to running after Comrades, following on from the Spar ladies race, or simply having a fun day completely surrounded by nature with work colleagues. The value for money was incredible with each person receiving:

entry to the game park, a commemorative T shirt, a medal, a team certificate, a fish or lamb braai pack, a Supergoo energy sachet, a cool drink, a stick of Tala homemade game biltong, a beer, as well as other ‘goody bag’ information – and the chance to run in ‘awesome’ surroundings!

Fotoman was there to record the day and you can see some of the action on www.fotoman.co.za

In TALA there is plenty of opportunity to drive around the well-graded roads on your own, or to take a formal game drive, and at the main camp the option of mouth-watering food and drink at the a la carte restaurant.
For those who want to make a weekend of it either for leisure or perhaps a company team-building weekend there is a wide spectrum of accommodation from A framed thatched huts to stylishly decorated luxury lodges.
